We never see or store your videos. Full stop.
Lumiko records, edits, and exports entirely on your device. There is no upload step, no cloud copy, and no one on our team who can watch what you record.
How we keep it that way
Everything stays on your device
Recording, auto-zoom analysis, blurring, and exporting all happen locally in your browser. Your video is never streamed to our servers.
We do not watch your recordings
Lumiko has no mechanism to view, preview, or inspect the content of anything you record. There's no dashboard on our end showing your videos.
Nothing is uploaded by default
Lumiko does not silently sync your footage to the cloud. Exported files are saved to your computer, the same way any download works.
Nothing to delete, because nothing is stored
Since we never receive your recordings, there's no copy sitting on our infrastructure to worry about, leak, or request deletion of.
Your Pro license key is checked locally against a signed token; it identifies your purchase, not your content. Crash reports, if enabled, contain no video or screen content — only error type and extension version.
Why Lumiko asks for the permissions it does
desktopCaptureRequired by Chrome to let you select and record a screen, window, or tab.
activeTabLets the recorder and editor UI run on the tab you are currently using.
storageSaves your local settings — like your default background or zoom style — on your device only.
scriptingPowers the on-page cursor tracking used to calculate auto-zoom keyframes locally.
Questions about this policy? Reach us any time — we're happy to walk through exactly how recording, editing, and licensing work under the hood.
